MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the McCaysville Police Department is to provide the community of McCaysville a safe environment
with professional quality police service through positive interaction with its citizens.
VISION STATEMENT
The vision of the McCaysville Police Department is to reduce crime by co active partnerships with citizens, elected officials, and other federal, state and local agencies.

Chief of Police Michael Otis Earley
CEO: City of McCaysville Police Department
Chief Earley began his career with the City of Blue Ridge Police Department in October of 2007. In 2008, Chief Earley attended the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy. Upon graduation, he was assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. In 2009, he completed Police Instructor's school and in 2010 completed his Specialized Instructor's Certification in speed detection. Chief Earley assisted North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy as an adjunct instructor teaching Basic Law Enforcement. Chief Earley also taught numerous classes locally, as well as with surrounding agencies. He continues teaching to this date.
In March of 2016 Chief Earley was appointed Chief of Police. Since his appointment, he has attended the 16-50 class of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Training. Chief Earley was presented Officer of the Year from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety in October of 2016. He was elected in 2017 to serve the Appalachian Trail Traffic Enforcement Network as a Coordinator with the Governor's Office of Highway Safety. This year he was appointed Chairman of the Traffic Committee for the Georgia Chiefs Association.
Chief Earley holds numerous certifications including: Police Instructor, Specialized Instructor, Training Officer, Hostage Negotiator, and Police Counter Sniper.
Chief Earley is a native of Fannin County and attended Fannin County High School.
